We know you have lots of questions. Here are some answers to questions often asked. It's a start.

Is Encore CBE a school?

Encore CBE is not a school but a place with people who can help you explore options and possibilities for returning to learning. Working with your needs and goals, we will help you figure out the best option so you can finish school your way.

Does it cost me anything to come to Encore?

It doesn't cost you anything. Just your time.

What happens when I meet with someone at Encore?

You will meet one of us. We will get to know you, learn about your goals, challenges and the person you want to be. Together, we will figure out your plan to return to school. Your way. We can also help you with any barriers that might be standing in your way. Finishing school is important but we care about you as a person. We work with a lot of community-based organizations that offer supports to help you meet your basic needs.

What age do I have to be to come to Encore for help?

We are geared to work with youth age 12-19 who have left school before graduating. For those over 19, we can help you navigate schooling options.

Will it cost me anything to return to school?

Encore CBE will work with you figure out the best way to return to school and deal with the finances. Money shouldn't be a barrier for returning to school.

I find it hard to balance work and school, how can I do both?

We can help you find a flexible program to help you balance work and school. We can also explore the possibilities of getting high school credits for the work that you are already doing.

What school can I attend?

There are many options. We will help you find the school or program that will help you finish school your way. We can explore community schools, taking courses online, work experience, outreach, career-focused programs, options for upgrading and more. Every person is unique and together, we will find the best solution for you.

What classes do I need to take?

We will work with you to discover the credits that you already have, the courses you need and ways to complete high school to help you reach your goals.

When can I start school? Are there specific entry/registration dates?

Some programs have specific entry/registration dates and others have open registration dates year round. We can help you find what you need when you need it.

High School Completion - What does that mean?

High School completion can mean meeting the requirements for either a high school diploma, a high school equivalency diploma or a certificate of school completion. We can navigate you through the details, but if you are interested, here are the links to more information.

What if I need help and support along the way?

We will work with you to explore what support you need to be successful at learning and at life. We work with a lot of community-based organizations that can support you. Don't worry. You can do this. We are here to help you along the way.
